this is the crochet challenge i did, but was too lazy to upload, i crocheted loads of different types of flwrs and boarders, none of which worked very well or looked good enough, so i cheated and used this one instead, but i DID try, very hard to do my own!

poem

Raking Leaves
I rake the leaves
When they fall down,
In a great big pile.
And when there are
Enough of them,
I jump on them awhile.

New month new challenge

Take 1 sheet of 12x12 card and make a mini book. Cut it, fold it, decorate it, do what you will and lets see what we come up with.

Weather

Weather
Whether the weather be fine,
Or whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold,
Or whether the weather be hot,
We'll weather the weather
Whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not!

environmental blog action day

We are a bit late for this as it was in fact Monday. However how green are you?

Do you recycle your paper bits, do you recycle old button, ribbons, labels or do you always buy new, Do you gut the paper behind your photos to make it go further? How small does a piece of paper have to be before you throw it away?

Personally I keep all scraps of paper as big as my smallest punch. I do sometimes gut behind photos but not always. I do recycle newspapers but tend not to recycle scraps from my craft room. I have a load of buttons I bought from a market stall that had been cut off old clothes.

Helen's challenge

OK this is what I have done. I bought this bottle opener from Tesco's for 11p.
Then altered it to this.
I sanded it first then painted it white as I had intended to make it into a christmas thing - possibly a personalised bottle opener for the men. Then I realised that the circle would be a good place to put a photo so I did this instead. Have now bought some more and may make them into Christmas tree decorations as both sides could easily be decorated and they have the handy little hook on top to thread cotton or ribbon through

Friday 5 October 2007

here is my Monogram P that I bought last weekend at Ally Pally...painted with ranger dabbers, script stamp, paper image, bloom and a bit of utee. Hope you like it!!

New Challenge

Hello I have thought long and hard for all of about 10 mins and have come up with our next challenge as ruth very kindly picked my very scary LO!!!!!!

I challenge you all to....

Alter something!!!!!!!!!

whether that is something designed for altering or something that you think is crying out to be altered.
Use your imagination to the best, and have fun

New month new challenge1

Just a little challenge. Incorporate a serendipity square somewhere on a LO.

Anyone need help with making a serendipity square?

OK to make a serendipity square.

1 Get a piece of card

2 Collect some papers or scraps that are similar in colour eg all pinks or a blend of eg blues and browns

3 cut or tear these papers into smallish pieces

4 Stick paper onto card randomly - overlapping so you cant see any card. Make sure each piece is well glued

5 Leave to dry

6 Cut out a square or squares from the card.

7 As you can see much depends on the size that you want your finished square to be or how many squares you want. The size you decide on will determine the size of the bits of paper that you use . e.gif you decide to do an inchie it would be no good cutting the bits of paper into 1 inch bits. LOL

Think pink for October

Think I've got it as pink as I can.

Winner of the "Angle" challenge......

IS.......

Helen.

I really liked your take on who you are - sister, daughter, etc as well as the range of photos of your head!!

I really liked all of the Layouts and liked all the various "angles" but Helens stood out to me especially as one of the LO that looked at the "different angle" in more than one way.

Ruths Angle challenge

I know I know!! A layout of your feet is nothing new but I did like the photograph!!I want to finish this layot with a title using plywood which I have somewhere safe but couldnt find it!! Typical!! Anyway...I have journaled a teeny bit on the photo itself..."My toes! I dont think my feet are too bad for a 44 year old mum!" Tgas cut with a puch and inked...a few primas and voila!!

Crochet Challenge

Here is my layout using crochet....the pictures were taken with my new camera and I was very pleased with the results. The layout is simply scalloped cardstock, bit of ribbon and doodling and of course two crochet flowers layered as a single embelly....

New Challenge

I've thought long and hard and realised we do not scrap ourselves often enough....so.....the next challenge is:

Scrap yourself from an unusual angle

there are many ways that this can be interpreted so consideration will also be given to your "angle"

THE SCRAPLIFT WINNER IS......................

My Hubbie chose this one, mainly because he liked the pun in the title and the little snail, but also he felt it looked alot like the original sketch!

Do a LO any size but you must crochet an embellie eg a flower
or crochet a length of chain to use on it.
Of course you might first have to learn to crochet.

Mystery scraplift

Here fingers crossed is my layout, it was as close as I could do

Friday 27 July 2007

original mystery LO

OK here is the original LO. Think you have all done brilliantly.

Mystery LO challenge

Here's my take on the mystery LO (Sorry for the line up the middle where I have scanned the two parts) My four photos wouldn't go across the page so I rotated through 90 degrees as I did not want to loose any of the photos.

My challenge attempt

This is my attempt at the challenge, Braydon at the beach (he looks so young!!)

Tried to make my circle tag look like a sun!, the rest of the title says precious memories.

The buttons and brads look a bit pale in the flash light but are dark.

Thanks for this challenge Barbara put my thinking cap on

Hi everyone, here's mine.

this is my take on Barbaras clues, i didn't have a big brad or button so i cut out a paisley, and i tried to make a circle tag but it didn't look right, i tried!!

Mystery Scraplift

Here is my version of the mystery Scraplift by Barbara.

I made a embellie of a slice of watermelon using paper dimensional paint and diamond glaze. I also put blogs of diamond glaze on the thick foam letters to represent the juice.

My scraplift:

Saturday 21 July 2007

Thank you Barbara for putting my layout up. I don't really know what I am doing with this signing in malarky but I am here now.

There is lots of stiching on my layout which hasn't come out in the scan round the layout and picture, it is very hard to tell that this started from the original layout

Continuing the scraplift

Here is Joannes.

Mystery scraplift

Have seen this on a digi scrapping site somewhere ( if I find it again will credit it). Anyway the idea is I do a LO and then you all ask questions about it - total of 10 all together. Then you do a LO based on the answers. Then we have a big reveal.

So here goes

1 Shirley asked "How many photos"

Answer : There are 4 photos in a line across the middle of the page. They are not all vertical.

2 Ruth asked about the title

Answer: The first part of the title is in a circular tag in the top left corner and the rest is above the photos starting just left of centre.

3 Sally asked "Is there any journalling?"

Answer : Yes - it is on journalling strips bottom right hand under the photos.

4 Joanne asked Is it v colourful/ monochromatic or dull

Answer: It is mostly blue and purple with a little bit of yellow and pink however you can do it whatever colour you want.

5 Helen asked "Is there any stamping"

Answer: No but you could stamp the 2nd part of the title

6 Sal asked Are there any embellishments?

Answer: There are 3 buttons. There is also a blob brad, some stitching and 4 smaller brads.

7 Shirley asked what size it is.

Answer: It is 8x8 but would work in a 12x12.

8 Joanne asked "Did you use any special techniques?

Answer: I have torn edges to one of the paper pieces

9 Helen asked Is there any patterned paper

Answer:
I have used 2 pieces of patterned paper. 1 piece horizontally under the photos and one piece vertically on the left of the LO.

10 Queenie asked "Is it a single or double LO"

Answer: It is a SLO

OK all questions asked. You have until Friday 27th July.

Monday 9 July 2007
